Produced by the french label Prisme, this album is an experimental music collaboration between eight artists : Joël Lavoie, Bruno Bernard, Léopold LeRoy, Chienvoler, Trismus, Léopold Cordier and the Terre Synthe duo.
Narrativa, my contribution to this unique project, is an exploration, in the form of a sonic story, of multiple emotional plasticities, oscillating between turmoil and sweetness.
To support the raw aesthetics that come out of this compilation, visual artist 6mash6 (Martin Saint-Hillier) has created an experimental film based on VHS camera archives, slides, scratches, collages and paintings.

Mariposa is a soundtrack composed for an animation short directed by Rachel Naughtin, in which a classical dance student is stuck in her subconscious mind, looking for her need to move herself towards more contemporary styles.

This short movie directed by Tiana Kader is an rotoscopical poem declaring her uncertain love for introspection and boredom.
The film has won the Jury’s Favorite Prize at the Festival du Film Court de la Sorbonne 2021.
The title means Of the pleasure of twiddling our thumbs.
To match with both the experimental aesthetics and the text about boredom and repetition, I actively searched for suited sound palettes with granular synthesis.
Granual synthesis uses short samples of sounds to play them with controlled randomness, repetition and rigidity, and was to me the perfect tool pour experiment on the same ground as the director.
The second part of the short (from 01:54) going more for themes around reverie and contemplated memories, the music blends toward a melancolic melody full of hope.

Num Yom Meow is an educative animation show that tells cute and funny stories of a character and its cat, directed by George Theonas.

For more than three years, I’ve been developing the sound identity of this series.
The main purpose of my work (voice recording, mixing, foley, sound design) is to bring life to the characters and to the silly situations they put themselves in.
2023 – Today
Idéales is the graduation film of Barbara Guidarelli, then student in animation drawings at the Emile Cohl school.
The film was in selection for the belgian Festival Graines de Cinéastes 2021.
Passionate about experimental art, Barbara decided to tackle the subject of the objectification of women from a singular point of view : that of the man, suffering the weight of his fantasies, which have conditioned him.
The interest in this film was to sublimate the emotions that run through the protagonist in a representative and metaphorical way, from pleasure to detonative anguish.
Barbara’s project allowed me to explore with a new perspective the merits of sound design through the permanent application of acoustic syntheses. This bias is not trivial, since it aims to illustrate the sinister facticity of emotions that the character hopes to escape, influencing the entirety of his environment.

Bouquet d’Automne is the graduation film of Anouck Gintereiter, then student in animation drawings at the Emile Cohl school.
The film was in selection for the Festival du Film Jeune de Lyon 2021.
Created Anne Godefert, the challenge of this soundtrack was to compose an original music sweeping several sections of a sad and sweet melancholy on contemplative levels, illustrating both the emotions of the protagonist but also the evolution of his relationship with his home help.

Symphonie en Bêêêêêê(Majeur) is the graduation film of Hadrien Vezinet, then student in animation drawings at the Emile Cohl school.
The film was in selection for the Festival du Film Jeune de Lyon 2020.
The challenge of this film was to succeed in not only making sheep lively and amusing, but above all in dissociating a particular sheep (Mireille) with the sound recordings made with Hadrien and his friends.
Lucem is a participating film in the student competition Visions de Villes, organized by three animation schools for the 2019 edition of the Annecy Festival.
Lucem was an exciting project to realize because it allowed me to implement, in collaboration with Juliette Lebegue, a sound design that blends into the music and vice versa.
The tight interplay between sound effects and instruments allowed us to convey the dreamlike dimension of the animation.

Désaccordé
Désaccordé est un court métrage jeune public réalisé dans le cadre des Espoirs de l’Animation 2019 autour de la thématique “C’est quoi l’égalité entre les filles et les garçons ?”.
Ce second travail de réalisation m’a permis cette fois-ci de mieux apprécier le sound design par plans, ainsi que la richesse du hors-champ. En premier plan les personnages et les objets, en second plan la taverne et les personnages hors-action (ex : le dragochon qui annonce sa venue), et en troisième plan l’immense bataille que l’on ne voit pas mais qui fait rage aux portes mêmes de ce que l’on voit.

Slip et Bikini
Slip et Bikini est un court métrage jeune public réalisé dans le cadre des Espoirs de l’Animation 2019 autour de la thématique “C’est quoi l’égalité entre les filles et les garçons ?”.
Réalisé avec Juliette Lebegue, Slip et Bikini fut pour tous deux notre première expérience de sonorisation de court-métrage, et je ne pouvais rêver mieux, pour débuter, qu’un projet d’ambiance réaliste, de personnages et de musique originale.
Pour ce projet les étudiants d’Emile Cohl travaillaient sur leur mince temps libre, il fut intéressant de voir leur travail évoluer nettement en fonction des sons proposés avec l’animatique (expression des enfants, danse sur la musique).
